Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Seattle, Washington

Dept.:  Accounting

Reports to:  Controller

Hours: Full Time M/F

 

Summary:

Responsible for developing, maintaining and providing financial reporting, accounting controls, and support to functions within the Lighthouse organization. Maintains and analyzes moderately complex financial information, plans and projections utilizing knowledge of financial theory.

Responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements with supporting schedules, budget compilation and reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, account reconciliations and account analyses.

 

Responsibilities:

á      Manage a team of staff in Finance.

á      Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, schedules and budget reports. Prepares monthly sales reporting, as well as interim and ad hoc reporting, utilizing JDE, Excel and AMX-IQ. Special projects as assigned.

á      Analyzes financial statements compared to budget and prior year, preparing written summaries of variances, trends, benchmarks and other information relevant to management, incorporating qualitative and quantitative results.

á      Assists with preparation of financial information for Board of Trustees and Committees.

á      Performs technical accounting research and assists with new accounting standards implementation.

á      Supports the close process, does account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely internal and external financial statements.

á      Maintains integrity of General Ledger system and chart of accounts.

á      Prepares regulatory reporting and government surveys.

á      Plans and coordinates the annual budget process and quarterly re-forecasting.

á      Assists with annual audit, preparing schedules for auditors and providing information as needed.

á      Works effectively with Controller, CFO and Accounting Department to meet financial needs of the organization. Makes recommendations for financial policies and guidelines to improve companyÕs financial position.

á      Develop a strong working relationship with other departments to provide excellent client service and supports to each department to allow for a better understanding of their financial information.

á      Assist in managing the further development and refinement of the ERP system with regards to the efficiency and timeliness of financial reporting.

á      Assumes overall primary responsibility for complete and timely accounting for all Base Supply Centers (BSCÕs).  Works with BSC store managers to prepare, understand and analyze accounting data. Ensures adequate system of internal control exists within BSCÕs.

á      Maintains and updates records for all Lighthouse investments including the Foundation. Runs reports, reconciles income and principal and reports on all investment activity.

 

Requirements:

á      Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration or finance (or equivalent experience). MBA / CPA preferred.

á      Minimum of five (5) years progressive finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

á      Prior management experience with proven people management and team building skills.

á      Excellent analytical and decision making abilities.

á      Strong understanding of ERP systems and financial report writing software.

á      Able to evaluate GAAP and internal controls including identifying and resolving internal control weaknesses.  Able to apply GAAP accounting standards and requirements to processes and procedures.

á      Detail-oriented with strong analytical approach to problem solving. Proactive, positive attitude required the ability to work successfully and effectively in a collaborative environment.

á      Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain financial issues and results in clear and concise manner.  Previous experience in presentations to management desired.

á      Strong Excel and other Microsoft Office skills.  Experience with JE Edwards, other report-writer or query software preferred.  (E.g. Monarch, Crystal Reporting, Spreadsheet Server, query tools or business intelligence.)

á      Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines.
